Very well situated, within walking distance of the main museums. Lively area with many shops around and a lovely little square. Hotel staff were very friendly.Room was not very large but confortable and clean and although looking out on the square, it was not noisy as there were. several lots of shutters. We had a nice balcony were we could sit and watch the people and the entertainment down in the square (musicians and fire-eaters) until the early hours of the morning.
No English channel on their TV. Breakfast served in the cafe next door was very basic and smoking was allowed in the cafe!
We had a brilliant stay. Friendly, helpful staff. The hotel was in a fantastic position, really close to major attractions. It was buzzing and noisy, but that was what we wanted, it did not disturb our sleep, because in the rooms at the front there was plenty of sound proofing. At the back there was not much of a view in fact none, but it was very clean and large and could not have suited us better.
Perfect location, close to everything (main museums, bars, restaurants, two metro stations). Nice, comfortable bathroom and amenities, polite stuff (especially the gentleman in the afternoon - evening shift at the reception) and they were all speaking English.I asked for a room with a balcony, and they gave me one with the whole Plaza Santa Ana in front of me. Although the hotel is in a very noisy area, I didnt't hear a thing during my sleep thanks to the soundproof windows.
The room was a bit small but I guess this is common in most european cities. Also a mini refrigerator would be very useful, especially in summer.
The only positive of this hotel is its location
The hotel was very poor. At the reception the promised me a 'nice and quiet' room. They gave me a room closed to the cleaners room. The cleaners were doing noise all day long. In the morning I had to wake up at 6:30 because the noise of the cleaners. In addition I could not enter my room because infront of the door there was always a big basket with towels. Another negative point was that the room had no windows. It was like prison. The breakfast was very very poor. For this hotel breakfast meant a coffee, an orange juice and a toast. Accross the steet there was a shop serving English breakfast for 5 euro.
The location, in the centre of Madrid with many restaurants and bars and close to the cultural attractions, is its main advantage.
The noise. The rooms had very thin walls and the sounds of other guests, even normal conversations, were constant. Also noise from the restaurant below was disturbing, particularly in the evening. Paying in advance for breakfast, at 5 euros, doubled its price
this is well sited in central Madrid - the location is excellent and the hotel clean and not too nooisy
the rooms are very small, barely enough space to step around the bed. The continental breakfast was minimal.
Location is great - very easy to walk to all key nightlife locations from here.
Was disappointed in the front desk staff:there was a female at the desk, who, when my boyfriend was checking into the hotel late at night (which I had advised the hotel that morning), said to us 'your friend, boyfriend, whoever he is needs to show some ID before he can come in. Terribly rude and embarrassing. Which is a shame as the last time I stayed there there were 2 male front desk staff who were exceptionally nice.
Internet services, friendlyness of staff
loud sex in the neighbour's room, lack of sound insulation?
Very good location, all place of interesting are quite close. Good area , a lot of cafes , restaurants. Very friendly staff.
Excellent location. My room had a balcony with a lovely view over Plaza Santa Ana. Comfortable, clean room and bathroom. Friendly staff, reasonable rate
the price, the cleanliness of the room and the locaation!!
the WiFi was not working although they said it would work...
Very friendly staff and excellent location. Breakfast in the cafe next door was quite basic but it was enough for us.
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff
The beds were too hard and we did not like our dark room, with window into inner courtyard with no real light and access for staff on other side so that could see into room (couldn't have window open with curtain). Also next to direccion (door banged a lot) and near to lift. Also a lot of noise from upstairs room.
Hotel is situated right in the city centre. Easy to get to and a walk away from most attractions.
Noisy at times
Staff are really friendly and speak very good English. We got there early and they did a early check-in with no question asked. Hotel rooms are small yet spotlessly clean. Room service is very good and location is perfect.
the size of the rooms. walls are pretty thin, can hear people talking and walking in the downstairs restaurant and hotel hallway.
